Why charge a 0.4% platform fee?

We're a real business, so we have to charge something. 0.4% is small enough that you'll never notice it on a $80 manicure, and we'd rather earn from your success than nickel-and-dime you with a monthly bill on slow weeks.

What about Stripe processing fees?

Those go directly to Stripe, not to us. Standard rates apply: 2.9% + 30¢ for card-present via Tap-to-Pay on iPhone, slightly different for keyed-in or terminal hardware. Cash, Zelle, Venmo and Cash App carry no processing fee — we don't touch the money.

Do I need a Stripe account?

Yes. We'll help you set one up if you don't have one — takes about 10 minutes. Your card-present money settles directly to your Stripe account, on your schedule.

What hardware do I need?

An iPad or laptop for the front desk, and an iPhone (any model that supports Tap to Pay) for card-present checkout. That's it. If you prefer a dedicated card reader, the Stripe Reader S700 works out of the box.
